Pawleys Island Rope

The Original Pawleys Island Rope Hammock Company was founded in the late 1800 by Cap'n Josh Ward, a sailor in seach of a comfortable night’s sleep.  Cap'n Josh developed the original rope hammock using a spreader bar and a knotless hammock bed.  Not much has changed from Cap’t Josh’s original design, just better quality cotton rope, now available in long last, soft polyester rope, and DuraCord rope.  DuraCord rope is a soft, solution dyed, acrylic rope used for its ability to hold vibrant colors and remain color fastness, as well as water resistant, quick drying characteristics.
