The Original Pawleys Island Rope Hammock Company was founded in the late 1800 by Cap'n Josh Ward, a sailor in seach of a comfortable night’s sleep.  Cap'n Josh developed the original rope hammock using a spreader bar and a knotless hammock bed.  Since that time, they have expanded their hammock manufacturing to include soft, cozy quilted hammocks, soft weave hammocks, and pool side hammocks.  Pawleys Hammocks are available in a great assortment of solids and stripes. Still located on Pawleys Island in South Carolina, we are proud to offer you MADE IN THE USA hammocks, with superior quality and craftsmanship.
